Name interpretations

• Esperanto is a constructed language. The name is translated as "one who hopes", and since the Esperanto in 3d universe is based on the Cadillac Eldorado, it may refer to the metaphorical meaning of "el dorado": an ultimate prize or "Holy Grail" that one might spend one's life seeking. It could represent true love, heaven, happiness, or success. It is used sometimes as a figure of speech to represent something much sought after that may not even exist, or, at least, may not ever be found. Another thing that can confirm all this is the relation to the Spanish word "esperar" which means "to wait". Therefore, the whole reference can be interpreted as "hoping and waiting for the ultimate goal that may not exist".
• If this interpretation is true, then Rockstar may have used the name to deliberately exclude the IV Esperanto in V, returning only as a police vehicle and making the civilian version non-existant, possibly letting fans know "that you can't always expect the sequel to literally bring back everything good from previous title(s) and improve on it".
• In HD universe it is based on the Cadillac Seville. Therefore, the decision to name the mid-size four-door sedan "Esperanto" may be a reference to a community of esperantists located in Seville called "Asociación Sevillana de Esperanto"
