Crouching is a feature in Grand Theft Auto Vice City, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto IV, Episodes from Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City

Tommy is able to crouch by doing a full squat with heels down on both feet for a relatively short while. He is not able to move while crouching but he is able to shoot from position.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

CJ is able to crouch by doing a full squat on left leg with heel down while kneeling on the right leg. He is able to move and sideroll while crouching. It is possible that his shooting accuracy is improved while crouching when using pistols, assault rifles and SMGs.

Grand Theft Auto IV and EFLC

Niko, Johnny and Luis are able to crouch by doing a full squat with heels down on both feet. They are able to move and shoot while crouching. With the introduction of the new Cover System all 3 are able to crouch behind low objects and blindfire from the same position.

Grand Theft Auto V and Online

Michael, Franklin and Trevor are only able to crouch when taking cover. All 3 of them seem to do the full squat with only one foot having heel down.

Trivia

  • If Tommy is wearing a tracksuit while crouching, he somewhat looks like a gopnik.
