FiveM is a modification for Grand Theft Auto V which allows playing on custom servers online.

Description

It is a modification allowing gameplay on customized online servers without interferring with Grand Theft Auto Online or changing game files. The client allows servers to use custom cars, maps, weapons and other modifications. It keeps the original game AI and allows PvE. The GTA:O network code is used and improved upon, having better sync quality available. Up to 64 players can play in a server since around March 2019, later on the number increased to 128. The code is written in C#, JavaScript and Lua. The current FiveM project originated from a merger between FiveReborn and a new development group called the CitizenFX Collective. Roleplay servers seem to be the most popular game mode.
